Our client is a leading central Government body seeking  a Data & System Manager for an initial 6 month contract

Role: Data and Systems Manager
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf, E14 4PU
Pay Rate to Candidate: £500 Umbrella

About the role


To provide sound guidance, analysis and support on systems and information management matters. Deliver excellent services, especially in the areas of developing the Business Critical Systems, analysing complex data and information, designing management information. Lead the development of centrally managed tools and techniques to ensure strong operational. Support daily business operations and work across the unit to deliver team priorities. Deliver specific system development projects in line with the brief provided; Ensure that the Systems enables the team to conduct robust analysis across the programme. Lead the development of the key management information reports.

The ideal candidate is an independent and analytical self-starter with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with product teams to design paths through systems that are usable, useful, and efficient

Key Responsibilities:

The Data & Systems Manager will:

  • Design the way users across the MoJ interact with our technology knowledge hub by organising the information display and flow, making the user journey simple, intuitive and effective
  • Translate user behaviour into product structure; categorize content, create a consistent navigation system, and apply useful and intuitive naming conventions within the hub
  • Collaborate with user researchers to identify user needs;
  • determine the hierarchies of information and content flow based on user insights
  • Assess and optimize the performance of design iterations by actively participating in usability testing and interpreting analytics data
  • Contribute to the redesign of the MoJ knowledge bases and associated content templates
  • Collaborate with knowledge managers and content designer to rollout process & procedure changes across the MoJ Support the design of user-centric content

Essential skills and experience:

  • Strong understanding and experience with user-centered design principles
  • Deep understanding of and experience with information modelling
  • Experience with card sorting, Treejack testing
  • Familiarity with Sketch, Omnigraffle, Visio, or other relevant tools
  • Ability to make strong recommendations based on industry trends, user research, business needs and technical feasibility
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical thinking shown through outcomes
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environments
  • Experience managing knowledge base(s) and knowledge processes
  • Ability to engage and consult with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills & highly detailed-oriented
  • Desirable skills and experience
  • Experience with content-management systems and collaboration tools
  • Ability to manipulate and visualize data in an understandable way
