Rate: £522.29 /day (umbrella)

Duration: 15 Months

SC Clearance: Active DV Essential

Minimum requirements:

Experience required in:

  • Project management,
  • Procurement of contractor logistic support and contract management.
  • Knowledge required of military communication systems.
  • Experience within MOD desirable

At least one of the below qualifications is required:

  • PRINCE2 Foundation
  • Agile Project Management Foundation
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner
  • Agile Project Management Practitioner
  • APM Project Fundamentals (preferred)
  • APM Project Management Qualification (preferred)

Security Clearance: DV, sole UK national only (no dual nationality)


The role of the Project Manager is to lead / manage the project and the project team on a day-to-day basis. The Project Manager is responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of the project to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints. The Project Manager has a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders, to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised.


Manage the in-service performance and continuous improvement of 3 live communication systems. Work to be based at MOD Corsham but require regular visits to sites around mainland UK. Activities include:

  • Maintain project schedule and risk register
  • Monitor contractor performance against routine services and delivery of change tasks.
  • Conduct periodic compliance audits at contractor sites
  • Provide monthly performance reports to key stakeholders
  • Oversee problem and issue management
  • Assure and receipt for contractor deliveries
  • Manage the project budget (c. £12M pa)
  • Capture, clarify, contract and monitor delivery of change tasks (continuous improvement)
  • Plan activities to address equipment obsolescence
  • Lead the negotiation and transition management for a follow-on support contract
