Pay Rate to Candidate: 800-1200 p day
The Chief Officer for Planning and Performance is a new role within the refreshed Natural England senior leadership team. Through leading their team and being part of the Senior leadership team, the role holder will provide a critical contribution to the success of Natural England’s delivery and ways of working. S/he will have a national profile as a representative of the organisation, and will be comfortable operating at very senior levels in government, the public sector, the NGO sector and the business sector.
The Chief Officer for Planning and Performance will be responsible for business planning for the whole of Natural England, for monitoring delivery across the organisation, assessing and mitigating any risks to success. They will also lead work to increase the capability and capacity of the whole organisation to manage major programmes, and defining and acting on management information derived from, for example, a set of KPIs. They would be responsible for driving forward the transformation of the organisation, aligned to a new organisational strategy to meet the 25 Year Environment Plan.
The Chief Officer for Planning and Performance would be responsible for all aspects of governance, risk management and escalation, assurance and business performance. They would represent Natural England’s overall performance to Defra Ministers through robust organisational Management Information. They would also be the main liaison with Defra Group’s corporate services business partners so that Natural England has access to and can make efficient use of the resources necessary for improving organisational capability.
