Role: Network Architect (clouds architecture)

Location: Andover, Hampshire (remote currently)

IR35: In Scope

Rate: £554/day (umbrella)

Duration: 20 Months

Security Clearance: SC Cleared (Must be active – used within the last 12 months)

Minimum requirements:

The networks architect will have extensive experience of:

  • Experience of working with complex network environments and strict security protocols.
  • Bringing coherence to stove-piped information silos, reducing complexity and increasing productivity.
  • Experience with and understanding of MOD
  • Experience of AWS, Azure & MOD Cloud would be idea

The Role:

Networks (Cloud architecture) Architect – will integrate the Armed Forces Recruitment Programme (AFRP) Digital solution into the existing MOD Network.

Understand and optimise integration of application(s) in order to maximise exploitation of data communication networks. They will develop extensive knowledge of Ministry of Defence (MOD) systems and network in support of AFRP and will advise and enable the Digital solution to support tri-Service recruitment.

  • Create plans and layouts to outline integration of the future AFRP Digital solution within MOD data communication networks.
  • Present options to AFRP and clearly articulate the benefits or dis-benefits of each from a technical and business perspective, including why each of them merit investment or otherwise.
  • Consider information security when integrating the solution into MOD networks (assurance and accreditation), clearly articulating the pros and cons of competing priorities where they exist.
  • Upgrade the system as necessary to better meet MOD recruitment requirements.
  • Research new networking technologies to determine what would best support MOD recruitment in the future
  • Develop and implement test plans to integrate the solution within the MOD network.
  • Develop project timelines for delivery.
  • Contribute to budgeting for and understand the financial impact of network technology decisions.
  • Write functional requirements / specifications documents.
  • Keep up to date on infrastructure technology.
  • Assess competitors and the types of technology they use.
  • Guide the selection, implementation and deployment processes for new technology roll-out.

Key Skills & Experience required:

  • Working with complex network environments and strict security protocols.
  • Bringing coherence to stove-piped information silos, reducing complexity and increasing productivity.
  • Engaging with multiple stakeholders each with competing priorities for the system.

Security Clearance: Must have active SC clearance.
