We are looking for an Operation Support Analyst to join a high profile government project, you should knowledge of HTTPS and SSL Configurations, Automated deployment tools such as Puppet, IBM MVS and Fujitsu VME experience and Boldon James Impart transfer tool would be a plus.
To provide specialist and expert advice, guidance and problem resolution to a number of applications (bespoke, off the shelf, client-server as well as stand-alone) and desktop operating systems. Acts as a point of escalation for IT incidents and service requests and is responsible for ensuring that appropriate action is taken to investigate and resolve underlying problems in applications and services. Working with senior stakeholders and transitioning new services ‘to live’ to ensure they are able to provide ‘live support’ and participating in the negotiations around the levels of service under which incidents for new services will be supported. Extracts relevant data for purposes of quality control, staff development, performance management and service reporting.
Community of Practice IT Service Management Job Family Operations & Service Management Job Role Operations Application Support The Ops Application Analyst supports multiple live applications, liaising with Leads and SPOCs and reports to the Organisation Manager responsible for those applications. • Analyses, assesses impact, documents and implements changes based on requests for change. Understands IT Operations’ processes and how this supports the end user community • Prioritises and diagnoses incidents. Investigates causes of incidents and seeks resolution in conjunction with specialist support teams. Facilitates recovery, following resolution of incidents, you will also own an issue until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated and/or resolved • Initiates and monitors actions to investigate, analyses patterns and trends and resolves problems in systems, processes and services. Determines problem fixes and/or remedies. Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures. Takes inputs and establishes coherent frameworks that work & use database management system software and tools and knowledge of logical database schemata, to investigate problems and collect performance statistics and create reports.
The Support analyst will be tasked with carrying out routine configuration, installation and reconfiguration of database and related products. Optimises database performance and forecasts resource needs. Reviews requirements and specifications, and defines test conditions. Analyses and reports test activities and results. Identifies and reports issues and risks associated with own work
Some knowledge of a service management framework (e.g. ITIL) terminology, structure and basic concepts, and comprehend the core practices for service management would be a bonus.
