Process Engineer

Location: West Yorkshire, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Heckmondwike

Salary: £40k Circa (Fixed Term : 12 Months)

  • The delivery of Process Engineering services within the organisation to continually improve the
  • business performance and customer satisfaction
  • To work within the requirements of IATF16949
  • To Manage New Product introduction programmes
  • To Monitor process performance and resolve concerns through Root Cause Analysis
  • To manage Process Improvement projects within milestones and budgets
  • To create and maintain a safe working environment within manufacturing processes
  • To Chair and facilitate FMEA and Improvement Teams
  • To maintain FMEA, Product Specifications and Process instructions within Document Control
  • requirements
  • Contribute to, and follow, local EHS plans and procedures, ensuring trained personnel following safe
  • working practices in a safe working environment

Main activities

  • Troubleshoot on existing processes
  • Systemic improvement activity creation and implementation of solutions
  • Increase process Cpk to meet and satisfy customer expectations
  • Concise and effective communication across the business activity
  • Maintain Flow Chart, FMEA, Product and Process Specifications
  • Creation and Execution of “Product and Process Realisation” Project Plans and the reporting of actual and status against the Approved Plans
  • Control of Product and Process related documentation with TS16949 requirements
  • LAB NCR Investigation
  • Facilitate FMEA, Improvement and Root Cause Analysis meetings
  • Co-ordination of onsite sub contracted plant installation and improvement activities
  • Customer and Supplier interface as required on Product and Process requirements
  • Take care of not only your individual safety but also the safety and health of those who work with you and who may be in your vicinity
  • Co-operate, with regard to the implementation and observation of EHS requirements when made aware of them
  • Ensure that accidents and incidents are reported and participate fully as required in the investigation and implementation of any follow-up actions to prevent a recurrence
  • Do not interfere with anything provided to safeguard Health & Safety and/or Environmental security
  • Other Activities and supportive roles as defined within the Department

Required experience/Qualifications:

  • Continuous manufacturing processes
  • Textile / Plastics / Powder application industry experience
  • Thermally sensitive manufacturing processes
  • Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic experience
  • Project management skills
  • Automotive industry 1st / 2nd tier supplier
  • Computer Literate : General business + Technical tools software applications
  • QS9000 / IATF16949 auditor Skills
  • Root Cause Problem Solving 
  • HND / HNC in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
