Quality Engineer (weld)

Salary: Negotiable

Location: Lincoln, Newark On Trent, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire

The Client: A manufacturer of bespoke equipment for the Automotive and Industrial sectors

The Role:

• To maintain and develop weld procedures and associated quality plan
• To maintain and develop the associated procedures to ensure compliance with requirements of the project (Customer, internal, ASME).

 Key duties & responsibilities:
• Develop & maintain welding procedures, reworking process 
• Liaise with customers & third parties
• Preparation of welding quality plans
• Develop and maintain Quality Plans
• Produce associated procedures (Paint, inspection, NDE etc)
• Provide support to sales on new enquiries
• Welding : amount of NDT and NDT outsourcing etc
• Ensuring the correct compliance on paint systems to the requirements of the job
• Control of quality plan notification points and communication with relevant parties
• Raising Reqs for third party involvement
• Raising reqs for weld testing for both procedure and welders.
• Frequent appraisal of information for new, existing and tender jobs with respect to technical requirements : Quality plan, welding, NDE procedures and coating systems.
• European pressure directive (Re; third party inspection / surveillance) 
• ISO standards. ASME etc
• Customer specs : problem solving

Qualifications & Experience required:
• HNC (Mech Eng)   
• Min 5 years experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment with experience in developing quality plans  
• Understanding of welding process and ASME requirements
