Role: Records Manager

Location: Remote initially (Swindon, or London based office, irregular visits but needs to be flexible)

IR35: Inside

Rate: £500/day (Umbrella)

Duration: Until 31/3/22 initially (likely extension)

Minimum Requirement:

Essential

  • A self-starter, confident in stakeholder engagement
  • Previous experience of working with GIAA or similar organisation
  • Asset management or Records management certifications
  • Significant experience of implementing an information asset register and guiding the business through value assessment in a complex organisation.
  • Experience of working with internal auditors and supporting other through the audit process.

Desirable

  • Previously worked for Central Government Department or Agency
  • Other information governance qualifications
  • Experience of running project delivery, utilising both Prince 2 and Agile methodologies
  • Financial management awareness

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Implementation of an information asset register that adheres to the Agency’s information governance principles.
  • Constantly evaluate information assets and work with the Agency staff and management to define their value.
  • Ensure recording / tracking processes are manageable and adhered to within the Agency.
  • Assess and recommend appropriate tools to assist in managing and tracking of information assets.
  • Assess and review digital continuity including recommendations and improvement plan where appropriate to ensure traceability and use of information assets.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent policies and processes are legally compliant, and procedures are successfully embedded, that ensure we accurately, securely and effectively manage information consistently across the organisation.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures adhere to open and accessibility standards.
  • Define the departmental records officer duties.
  • As subject matter expert, lead cross government engagements with partner organisations as well as internal executive briefings, to ensure alignment with wider best practise.
  • Line management responsibility including development for more junior members of the team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and fluctuating timelines, including non-standard hours when required.
