Role: Systems Accountant
Contract Length: 18 Months initially
Location: Warrington or Carlisle / Hybrid (2/3 days/week on site)

Rate: £276/day

The Role:

Responsible for leading the cross-business assessment of the current ERP (Sage X3) solution and subsequent optimisation of the system to facilitate the appropriate level of control, financial reporting and planning and analysis. You will be leading an overhaul of finance systems in a key strategic transformation programme to improve the operational efficiency and control of the transportation organisation; this includes the areas of finance, procurement and inventory, but fundamentally involves all.

The role will require an individual with a results focused and collaborative style to ensure the needs of multiple cross-business stakeholders are fulfilled by robust evaluation and implementation of effective Finance systems changes. You will act as a catalyst for change and efficiency within the finance team and will be a key part of realising the Finance Vision.

You’ll have relevant experience in:
• Experience of Sage X3
• Experience of working with finance systems and delivering improvements across finance systems and processes
• Experience of working in agile sprints and / or iterative programme environments, comfortable with ambiguity and shaping solutions to navigate this
• Proven track record of strong cross functional engagement, aligning project teams around common outcomes where no formal line management authority exists -
• Natural tendency to be able to coach and support others to embrace both the agility and the underpinning structure, process and governance required for effective oversight.
• Personal responsibility for being outcome driven, committed to not only hitting their own deadlines, but supporting others to be successful too
• Desire and ability to work at pace, in a fast-moving environment, comfortable with change and iteration -
• Effective organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and time management
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work independently as well as part of an effective team
Desirables:
• APM, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent practitioner with significant project management experience
• Performance objectives will be set in accordance with the appropriate organisation’s policy
• Highly experienced at creating project plans, integrating interdependent activities, and extracting critical path maps and dependencies
